    <description>Julie Gunlock is director of the Culture of Alarmism project at the Independent Women's Forum.  Before joining IWF, Gunlock served as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and on the House Homeland Security Committee, and on the staffs of Ohio Senators Mike DeWine and George Voinovich.

Gunlock has also worked at the American Red Cross and served six weeks on the ground in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  Gunlock received her bachelor's degree in political science from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 1994.  She has written about food and culture for the Washington Post, the Washington Examiner, and National Review.  She lives in Virginia with her husband and two young and active boys.</description>
